Just imagine a category five storm with sustained wind of 185mph destroying everything within its path. That is what Barbudans faced on September 6, 2017 when hurricane Irma destroyed 90% of structures on the island, including schools, hospitals and farms.

In the aftermath of such historic devastation, Barbudans living in the diaspora found it impossible to stay on the side lines, and decided to launch the Barbuda Relief Network (BRN); a nonprofit organization focused on rebuilding the island and restoring the ability of its residents to live sustainably.
